Abstract
Varied patterns of immunoreactive bands of Ca2+-independent protein ki nase C were detected by Western blotting. Intense wide bands, with spe cific immunoreactivity to anti-PKCepsilon and anti-PKCiota, were found in Active Dry and RapidRise yeasts. In comparison, separate bands wer e observed in protease deficient yeast and wheat germ. The crude extra cts from wheat germ, lobster tail meat and three strains of yeast disp layed a well-defined 50-kD immounreactive band in the presence of anti -PKCtheta.
