NONFATAL PARAQUAT POISONING IN A CAT

Paraquat was detected in the urine of a cat found in lateral recumbenc y and with muscle tremors. The cat had blood in its stools for the fol lowing few days and made a complete recovery within a week. There had not been any evidence of dyspnoea at any stage of the illness. Two oth er cats from the same house died, but were not available for necropsy. Another cat vomited once but paraquat was not detected in its urine.
