A case of Sandifer syndrome is presented. It is similar to previously
reported cases. The diagnosis may be overlooked if symptoms are mild.
Neurologic disorders are often suspected. Infants or children with tor
ticollis, dystonic posturing or atypical seizures should be evaluated
for Sandifer syndrome, Exhaustive and expensive neurologic examination
s may be unnecessary. Early diagnosis allows prompt treatment and reso
lution of the problem. Medical management is usually successful.
