Abstract
The papers concerning the year 1993 summarized the results of the Salm onella surveillance activity carried out by S.M.P USL 13 in the provin ce of Livorno. A total of 173 serotypes were encountered among the hum ans isolated. The predominant serotypes isolated from human source wer e S. typhimurium, S. enteritidis and S. london. Additionally, the most common sources of alimentary strains in Livorno were analysed and the results are that pork and chicken meats were the most contaminated.
