d. The suggested method is more rapid than the commonly accepted metho
d for carotenoid detection by thin-layer chromatography, does not requ
ire expensive sorbents, and is more precise. It was intended for the d
etermination of carotenes in the mycelial fungus Blakeslea trispora us
ed in industry.
