The possibility of weaving fabric with a control system governed by be
at-up force with negative take-up and positive beat-up principles is i
nvestigated using modern electronics equipment to prevent ''starting p
laces'' faults in weaving. The tension control system is integrated wi
th that of the beat-up force. Any deviation from the desired beat-up f
orce is compensated for by reducing or increasing both the take-up and
let-off speeds to adjust the cloth fell position and the tension cont
rol is achieved by adjusting the relative speed between the let-off an
d take-up. The design parameters and system performance are discussed.
