Gv. Givishvili et al., CLIMATIC TRENDS OF THE MIDLATITUDE UPPER-ATMOSPHERE AND IONOSPHERE, Journal of atmospheric and terrestrial physics, 57(8), 1995, pp. 871-874
Long-term variations of electron concentration in the mid-latitude ion
osphere, independent of heliogeophysical conditions and the meteorolog
ical characteristics of the atmosphere, have been determined. It is su
ggested that a long-term decrease of atomic and molecular oxygen conce
ntrations in the mid-latitude thermosphere is the most possible reason
for the trends found in ionospheric parameters.
