Abstract
Dioxobis(2,4-pentanedionato)molybdenum reacts with mercaptobenzoic aci d neutralized with triethylamine in methanol to yield the ionic compou nd bis(triethyl-ammonium) 2)-bis[2-mercaptobenzoato(2-)]-dioxomolybdat e(VI), (C6H16N)(2)[MoO2(C7H4O2S)(2)]. This compound has been character ized by conventional spectroscopic methods and the results of the X-ra y crystal structure analysis show the presence of a dianionic [MoO2(SC 6H4CO2)(2)](2-) complex and two Et(3)NH(+) cations.
