Abstract
The crystal structure of 3-benzyl-5-phenyl-2-p-tolylthiophene, C24H20S , is described. The thiophene ring in the title compound is planar and its structural properties are very similar to those of thiophene. The re is steric repulsion between the p-tolyl ring at C(2) and the benzyl group on the adjacent atom, C(3).
