Abstract
The stereochemistry of the diosphenol moiety of the title compound [al ternative systematic name: 4-(decahydro-5,5,8a-trimethyl-2-methylene- 1-naphthyl)-3-hydroxy-3-buten-2-one] was confirmed to have the Z confi guration. The diosphenol moiety is approximately planar with an intram olecular hydrogen bond existing between the alcohol and the keto group .
