Abstract
The plane of the acetic acid side chain of the title compound (2,5-dih ydroxybenzeneacetic acid, C8H8O4) is nearly perpendicular to that of t he benzene ring. Molecules are linked through hydrogen bonds of the O- -H ... O type.
