A new zincophosphate Zn-2(HPO4)(3) . H2N2C6H12 2 was obtained at room
temperature from a ZnO/P2O5/R/H2O mixture, R being the dabconium catio
n. The crystal structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffra
ction. The symmetry is orthorhombic a = 1.0540 (1) nm, b = 1.0050 (3)
nm, c = 1.4370 (3) nm, space group Pna2(1). The structure consists of
a three-dimensional network of tetrahedrally coordinated zinc and phos
phorus atoms linked through oxygen vertices. The framework is interrup
ted (presence of P-OH and P=O groups) and displays channels with 4-, 8
- and non planar 12- membered ring openings.
