E. Chauchard et al., HYPERPOLARIZATION PROPERTIES OF PYRIDINIUM AND QUINOLINIUM SALTS DETERMINED BY HYPER-RAYLEIGH SCATTERING, Chemical physics letters, 238(1-3), 1995, pp. 47-53
The quadratic hyperpolarizabilities of a series of pyridinium and quin
olinium salts are measured by hyper-Rayleigh scattering in solution. T
hese salts present high hyperpolarizabilities combined with good trans
parencies in the visible region of the spectrum. The higher efficiency
of the teraryl over the biaryl for the conjugation path between the d
onor and the acceptor groups is clearly evidenced.
