Abstract
The synthesis of 4,5-diazospirobifluorene and 4,5-diazobifluorenyliden e, the first two members of a new family of transition metal ligands d esigned for the study of intramolecular electron and excitation transf er is reported. The description of the synthesis and the H-1-NMR assig nments are provided. The UV-VIS and fluorescence spectra of the new li gands, together with a brief discussion of their electronic properties are included.
