Abstract
Femtosecond pulses were generated in a sapphire-titanium laser pumped synchronously by the second harmonic of a pulsed neodymium phosphate-g lass laser with passive mode locking and negative feedback. Such a las er, combined with a regenerative amplifier, provided a simple, reliabl e, and relatively inexpensive (compared with cw-pumped laser systems) source of femtosecond pulses.
