Abstract
The objective of this paper is to discuss the structural safety analys is of large framed offshore structures on distributed memory parallel computers. It involves: automatic FEM domain decomposition, sparse mul tifrontal method, elastic-plastic incremental analysis with strain-har dening and large displacements effects and reliability analysis proced ures. An application is presented to illustrate the strategy potential ities on the Intel iPSC/860 hypercube.
