Abstract
Modern phenomenological theory of modulated longperiodic structures in magnetically ordered crystals is analysed. Main attention is paid to incommensurate magnetic phases which exist due to the free energy inva riants linear with respect to the first space derivatives of the spin density moments. Equilibrium magnetic configurations of some specific objects are analysed.
