Abstract
Twelve neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) to the type 'O' foot- and-mouth disease vaccine virus strain (R2/75) were used for character izing 21 type 'O' field isolates in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results obtained with Mabs were compared with those obtai ned with complement-fixation test, sandwich ELISA and 2-dimensional mi croneutralization test using polyclonal anti bodies. The combined stud y revealed serological relatedness of all the Field isolates with the reference virus.
