A small amount of impurity has a significant effect on retarding the m
otion of grain boundaries during recrystallization([1]) Kasen([4]) has
investigated the recrystallization and grain growth in dilute allumin
ium alloys by measuring residual resistance. The results indicated tha
t the solute atoms could be absorbed constantly by migrating boundarie
s. In the present work, boron segregation near moving boundaries durin
g recrystallization in Fe-30%Ni alloy is investigated by means of part
icle tracking autoradiography (PTA) technique. The alloy beeps single
phase with f.c.c. structure during quenching. It is important to avoid
the influence of phase transformation on the microstructure and boron
distribution.
