Experimental data on migration of Cs-137, Sr-90, and Ce-144, and on de
contamination of oils contaminated as;a result of the Chemobyl disaste
r by applying a static electric field are reported The combined electr
ochemical action on the contaminated soil, virtually completely destro
ys the disperse species of radionuclides and makes them mobile. Electr
ic conditions and compositions of the working fluid that provide extra
ction of 95-98% Ce-144 and Sr-90 from all the soil samples and up to 9
0% Ce-137 from some samples were determined. Factors affecting the rat
e and power consumption of the process were studied The electrochemica
lly induced transformations of the radionuclide forms were studied.
