ISOLATION OF NATURE ASSOCIATION OF MARINE AGAR-DIGESTED BACTERIA AND PROTOZOA

Natural association of marine agar-digested bacteria and infusoria was isolated from the thallus of marine red alga, Palmaria palmata from t he White Sea. The infusoria were defined as Uronema marinum, the bacte ria were obligate aerobes, gram-negative pleomorphic mobile rods. The association was capable to growth on the medium with 0.18-1.5% bactoag ar as the only source of carbon. Agarase activity of cultural medium o f the association was higher capable with the pure culture of bacteria by growth on 0.18-1.5% bactoagar.
