Abstract
A CCD/CMOS image sensor, which can estimate in real time the 2D motion of a scene directly focused on it, consists of four 30-pixel linear i mage sensors, each associated with a CCD analogue processor array whic h computes the spatial correlation between two subsequent images. The chip can cover a focal plane velocity range from 0-+/-3000 pixel-shift s s(-1) and dissipates 100 mW with a 10 V power supply.
