With the FT-ir spectrometric study of several HDPE samples that had be
en exposed to low temperatures during various periods of time (till 90
days), it has been possible to follow the configurational changes due
to these exposures, affecting to polymer microstructure. These micros
tructural changes, basically consist of oxidations, ramifications, and
polymeric chains breakings.
