Abstract
The objective of this paper is to present a trend-cycle decomposition of the industrial labor productivity series in six major industrialize d countries, to study the relationship between trend and cycle innovat ions, and to highlight the role of monetary policy as a possible sourc e of transitory and permanent variations in labor productivity.
