B. Hauser et al., MICROPROPAGATION OF PELARGONIUM-DOMESTICU M .2. EFFECT OF MACRO SALTS, GELLING AGENT, AND CLOSURE OF TEST-TUBE, Gartenbauwissenschaft, 60(2), 1995, pp. 62-65
The influence of gelling agent, macronutrients, and closure of the tes
t tubes on micropropagation of Pelargonium domesticum was tested. Diff
erent gelling agents (agar/gelrite) influenced regeneration and vitrif
ication of shoots. Shoot formation on leaf explants was achieved only
on MS-medium, whereas node explants formed shoots on all media (MS, B5
, KNOP) tested. The use of cotton plugs reduced vitrification of shoot
s and increased percentage of acclimatized plantlets.
