Abstract
Germanium Cluster-based nanostructured films are prepared by inert gas evaporation. Their optical properties an analyzed by spectrophotometr ic measurement Blue shift of the fundamental band gap is found to be a s large as 2.0eV for the 10nm size cluster-based sample. Agreement is reached between the measurement and the theory of quantum confinement if the oxidation of the clusters is taken into account
