Abstract
Water soluble beta-cyclodextrin polymers were prepared from beta-cyclo dextrin crosslinked with epichlorohydrin under basic conditions. The i nfluence of preparation conditions on the molecular weight distributio n has been investigated. The knowledge of this relationship allows for the choice of reaction parameters according to the desired weight dis tribution of the beta-cyclodextrin polymer. A procedure was developed for the preparation of high molecular weight water soluble polymer (Mw higher than 10(4)). Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
