Aa. Farshid et A. Rajan, ASSESSMENT OF THE HUMORAL IMMUNE-RESPONSE OF JAPANESE-QUAILS IN EXPERIMENTAL OCHRATOXICOSIS, Indian Veterinary Journal, 72(2), 1995, pp. 122-125
One of the important biological effects of mycotoxins is the immunosup
pressive effect. Various studies in different species of animals and b
irds have shown this immunosuppressive effect. Ochratoxin A (OA) was s
hown to have immunosuppressive effect in chicks. OA was shown to suppr
ess both cell-mediated and humoral immune response in chicks (Singh et
at, 1990). However, there are no reports on the effect of OA on the i
mmune system of Japanese quail. The present documentations is the resu
lt of an investigation undertaken on the effect of OA on the humoral i
mmune response of Japanese quail.
