Abstract
Raptors are difficult patients to anaesthetise (Fowler, 1986). Even us e of local anaesthesia may lead to death of the patient especially in a small bird (Short, 1987). The present paper deals with successful us e of a combination of xylazine and ketamine in an eagle for the treatm ent of tibial fracture using internal fixation technique.
