O. Sreemannarayana et al., UROMOL-BRAN AS A REPLACEMENT OF OIL CAKES IN THE RATIONS OF BUFFALO BULL CALVES, Indian Veterinary Journal, 72(2), 1995, pp. 198-199
In the recent past, greater emphasis was bestowed to replace the expen
sive ingredients such as oil cakes in the concentrate mixture of cattl
e with cheaper feed resources. Several attempts were made to reduce th
e feeding cost by exploring the feasibility of alternate feed resource
s. Uromor, a heated product of urea and molasses (Malik et al., 1980)
and solidifide ' urea molasses base blocks (Leng, 1984) were being sup
plemented to basal feeds in buffalo calves. In the present study an at
tempt has been made to study the effect of inclusion of uromolbran rep
lacing groundnut cake in the concentrate mixtures on growth rate and p
erformance of growing bull calves.
