Self-excited oscillatory systems with electronic frequency tuning over
a wide frequency band with different bipolar-transistor circuit confi
gurations are considered. Expressions are obtained and represented in
generalized parameters for calculating the tuning ranges of the self-e
xcited oscillatory systems investigated. The effect of the point where
the varactors are connected in the oscillatory systems on its broadba
nd properties is analyzed. The basic circuit and experimental characte
ristics of a broadband UHF self-excited oscillator using a microwave b
ipolar transistor are presented.415
