T. Sato et al., EARLY AFTERDEPOLARIZATION ABOLISHED BY POTASSIUM CHANNEL OPENER IN A PATIENT WITH IDIOPATHIC LONG QT SYNDROME, Journal of cardiovascular electrophysiology, 6(4), 1995, pp. 279-282
Abolished Early Afterdepolarization by Nicorandil. We describe a 17-ye
ar-old boy with idiopathic long QT syndrome and repeated syncopal epis
odes, Early afterdepolarization (EAD) in the monophasic action potenti
al (MAP) was demonstrated in the posterior septum of the left ventricl
e, Injection of the potassium channel opener nicorandil decreased EAD
and shortened MAP duration, The syncopal episodes due to ventricular f
ibrillation disappeared after administration of the potassium channel
opener.
