Abstract
We report on a patient in whom leukemia cutis developed exclusively wi thin pre-existent hyperlipidemic xanthelasmata palpebrarum during the blast crisis of a myelodysplastic syndrome. Immunophenotyping of the x anthelasma macrophages revealed an alternative activation state compat ible with the secretion of angiogenic factors and preferential adhesio n of leukemic leukocytes to lesional endothelium.
