Abstract
A 79-year-old woman developed ecchymotic lesions of the face, and the axillary and inguinal areas. No pruritus was experienced and Darier's sign was negative. However, the patient complained of episodes of flus hing and diarrhea. Skin biopsy and bone marrow biopsy led to the diagn osis of systemic mastocytosis. Hemorrhagic manifestations of mastocyto sis are rather uncommon and their pathogeny is discussed.
