Abstract
Magnetite ore from Pokphur region, Nagaland, invariably contains a sil icate phase which is identified as chamosite. Chromium and nickel valu es in the ore are found to be mainly contributed by chamosite. Detaile d mineragraphy and mineral chemistry of chamosite indicate in favour o f its primary origin.
