Abstract
We describe a time-integrating acousto-optic correlator that allows se veral channels to be multiplexed optically by means of a coherence-mul tiplexed superluminescent laser diode. Parallel channels are generated by birefringent electro-optic modulators set in cascade to induce opt ical path differences greater than the coherence length of the source. The system can be combined with most of the other previously reported multichannel techniques used in acousto-optic processors.
