In this paper, the binary adsorption isotherms of acetone-n-hexane, to
luene-n-hexane, benzene-n-hexane and n-pentane-n-hexane on silica gel
are presented. The adsorption isotherms for pure gases are also obtain
ed. It will be seen from the experimental results that the adsorption
behavior of the vapor mixtures can be predicted from the isotherms of
pure components. The extent of predominant adsorption can be predicted
from the first layer adsorption heat of the individual pure component
