T. Braun et al., DOSE-EFFECT IN NEUTRON-IRRADIATED C-60 - A POSITRON LIFETIME SPECTROSCOPY AND DSC STUDY, Chemical physics letters, 238(4-6), 1995, pp. 290-294
Polycrystalline C-60 samples irradiated with five doses of nuclear rea
ctor neutrons stretching from 2.44 X 10(14) to 1.03 X 10(18) n/cm(2) w
ere investigated by positron annihilation spectroscopy and DSC. The me
asurements indicated that the crystal structure of buckminsterfulleren
e is unaffected up to a dose of about 7.56 X 10(16) n/cm(2). Above tha
t dose the crystal lattice begins to collapse and at a dose of 1.03 X
10(18) n/cm(2) the structure becomes totally disordered.
