EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY ON ANTIATHEROSCLEROTIC TREATMENT BY PGE(2) COMBINED WITH VITAMINE AND ESTRADIOL

The effects of single dose of PGE, combined with vitamin E and with es tradiol on experimental atherosclerosis were studied by means of morph ological, ultrastructural, autoradiographic and several functional tec hniques. The results showed that two combined treatment groups had mor e coordinative inhibition on aortic and coronary atherosclerotic lesio ns, as well as on platelet aggregation, smooth muscle cell proliferati on and lipid peroxidation than that of single dose of PGE(2), It was r evealed that the coordinative mechanism might be closely related to th e synergistic inhibitory function of and the ratio of the atheromatous plaque to aorta above-metioned drugs on endothelial permeability, pla telet aggregation, smooth muscle cell proliferation and liquid peroxid ation.
