Nj. Miller et al., TOTAL ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF LOW-DENSITY LIPOPROTEINS AND THE RELATIONSHIP WITH ALPHA-TOCOPHEROL STATUS, FEBS letters, 365(2-3), 1995, pp. 164-166
A rapid method is described for measuring the antioxidant activity of
low density lipoproteins. Studies were undertaken on individuals atten
ding a hyperlipidaemia clinic, an unsupplemented group and a group aft
er supplementation with 300 mg dl-alpha-tocopherol acetate for nine we
eks, The results show a positive correlation between the antioxidant a
ctivity and alpha-tocopherol content of LDL in the supplemented group.
