Abstract
The Artificial Intelligence (Al) Needs Analysis Workshop provided a fo rum for representatives from government agencies and private industrie s to explore ways to use Al to solve various problems. Past accomplish ments using Al were presented, and areas where Al might be used in fut ure efforts were identified. Each agency suggested their particular pr oblem areas where Al might be expected to solve difficult problems. Re ports from three working groups suggested future research areas in whi ch Al has the potential for success.
