In this paper, the degradation reactions of cephalexin in acid and alk
ali media are described in detail, and the corresponding fluorometric
methods of cephalexin are presented by producing its stable fluorescen
t products, The linear ranges are 0.50-100 ng/mL (acid degradation) an
d 2.0-70 ng/mL (alkali degradation), respectively, The fluorometry wit
h acid degradation has more advantages of analytical precission and is
more accuracy than that with alkali degradation, which has been used
for the determination of trace cephalexin in human serum and urine wit
h satisfactory results.
