Jq. Liang et al., PERSISTENT CURRENT-INDUCED BY MAGNETIC-FLUX IN A POLYACETYLENE RING AND FROHLICH SUPERCONDUCTIVITY, Physics letters. A, 201(4), 1995, pp. 369-374
We report the study of an electron-phonon model of a Peierls-dimerized
chain, namely a polyacetylene ring in the gauge potential of a magnet
ic flux. In the presence of the gauge potential the SSH Hamiltonian of
a polyacetylene chain is modified. The total energy as well as the pe
rsistent current are periodic functions of the magnetic flux. The effe
ct of the gauge potential is equivalent to that of a travelling lattic
e wave and leads to Frohlich's type of superconductivity from a theore
tical viewpoint.
