Thirteen lanthanide(III) complexes LnL(3) . 6H(2)O (where Ln = La, Ce,
Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb, Y; HL = hyl-N-phenyl)amino-ac
etyl]aminoacetopenonaldimine) have been synthesized and characterized
on the basis of elemental analyses, magnetic moment measurements, IR,
H-1 NMR and UV-vis. spectra, molar conductance, TG and DTA. Preliminar
y pharmacological tests showed that these complexes possess inhibiting
activities against B. subtilis 6633, S. lutea, S. aureus 209p, P. dip
lococcus, E. coli and P. aerruginosa x313.
