N,N-Dimethylpyrrole-1- and 2-carbothioamide (abbreviated, respectively
, as Hnpt and Hapt) reacted with trichlorobis(tri-n-butylphosphine)rho
dium(III)in refluxing toluene to give, respectively, RhCl2(npt)(PBu(3)
)(2) and RhCl2(apt)(PBu(3))(2). In the former was cyclorhodated at 2-C
of the pyrrole ring while in the latter the ring of apt was coordinat
ed through the ring-N atom under deprotonation: in the two the thioami
de-S atoms were ligated to the rhodium(III) center forming a five-memb
ered chelate ring.
