Abstract
The following compounds: T1Cl(3).L(3), T1BrCl(2).L(3), T1Br(3) L(3), T 1Br(2)Cl.L(3), T1IBr(2).L(2), T1I(3).L(2), T1I(2)Br.L(2), T1I(2)Cl.L(2 ) and T1IBrCl.L(2) (where L = 1-ethylimidazole) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses. All the solids are monomers and they behave as non-electrolytes in solution; Their H-1 NMR and IR spec tra were studied, with particular attention on the T1-X stretching vib ration modes, and possible molecular structures for the complexes are proposed.
