Y. Maki et al., FARNESYL DIPHOSPHATE SYNTHASE REACTIONS WITH DIMETHYLALLYL DIPHOSPHATE ANALOGS HAVING OXYGEN-ATOMS IN THEIR CHAINS, Chemistry Letters, (5), 1995, pp. 389-390
Six dimethylallyl diphosphate analogues having oxygen atoms in their a
lkyl chains were found to act as substrate in the reaction catalyzed b
y pig liver farnesyl diphosphate synthase to give geranyl diphosphate
analogues or farnesyl diphosphate analogues. The number of IPP incorpo
rated into the product depended on not only the length of the chain bu
t also its hydrophobicity.
