Abstract
This paper presents an in-depth survey of motors in a refinery and a c hemical plant. The potential for energy and demand savings is then det ermined and hence the dollar savings using a sliding rate structure cu rrently, applicable to the petrochemical industry in Louisiana. Extens ive use of the program MotorMaster is used and motor manufacturer's da ta is presented in a form to provide insight into potential areas for savings.
