Abstract
To analyze the functional contribution to the ssiA function of subsect ions of the ssiA-determinant sequence based on their dimensions, we co nstructed ssiA mutants carrying insertions and deletions. Results of t he examination of the ssiA mutants told us that, in addition to the ba se sequence, the dimensions were crucial factors for the functional co ntribution of the subsections of ssiA.
