Abstract
Pneumococcal infections are very warrying owing to morbidity and morta lity but also to the increasing of pneumococcal resistance level to an tibiotics used in the treatment of invasive infections. Considering th e high mortality, even with susceptible strains, the vaccinal approach has to be envisaged, The present polysaccharidic vaccine (23 valences ) proved its immunogenicity by the determination of anti-capsular anti bodies and by its efficacity in immunocompetent patients, Nevertheless , its use is still very low, Conjugate pneumococcal vaccines should be more immunogenic especially for children and immunocompromised hosts.
